Abstract

An elaboration of the notions to be used for the treatment of aggregation and disaggregation. From a literature survey six major problem areas on the influence of the level of aggregation on the quality of explanation and prediction of urban development, are identified. These are illustrated by Dutch and foreign experiences from various fields of urban and regional modelling.
