Abstract

Most trip generation models have an inherent assumption that a group of people that have similar socio-economic characteristics behave in the same manner regarding trip making. This aggregation assumption is particularly critical when trip analysis zones become large. The model proposed here attempts to treat the aggregation question by deriving density functions of trip making for groups of people of similar socio-economic characteristics.
