Abstract

This study will serve two purposes: 1) an investigation of the longitudinal control interface of the vehicle driver complex to determine the effects of control sensitivity changes on the performance of the system in maintaining a constant velocity over a period of time and 2) attempt to maximize the performance of the vehicle driver system in the tasks of velocity maintenance and car following.
