Abstract
All but the final paper in this Record deal with planning, operating, or management of airports and airspace. The scope of interest covers a wide range - from regional and statewide planning concerns to design and evaluation of specific functional components of terminal buildings and airport landside approaches. The theme of these papers is that sound planning and management are crucial to succesful operation of the airport and airways system and its surface transportation links, where success is defined as wise use of resources, economy of expenditure, and high-quality service to air travelers.
