Abstract

The purpose of the survey was to ascertain the practices and procedures of coroners and/or medical examiners as well as the laboratory testing agencies. The principal focus was on practices or procedures that could affect the reliability or comparability of information relating to alcohol and drug involvement in traffic fatalities. Results show considerable variations in practices and areas of improvement and suggestions are discussed.
