Abstract

This chapter describes the use of a training programme, 'Transit Ambassador', to educate bus drivers about issues related to alcohol and other drug use. Perth's bus operator, Transperth, introduced the programme to provide information on which an alcohol and other drugs policy for the workplace could be developed. The organisation of the programme and the subjects covered are described. The drivers' initial response to the programe and the results of an evaluation afterwards are discussed. The programme is considered to have been very useful and similar programmes on other factors which affect fatigue are planned. For the covering abstract see C 45915 (IRRD 876074).
