Alcohol and other factors in fatal motorcycle collisions : a preliminary analysis.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine if differences existed in the characteristics of the collisions of motorcyclists classified as sober, had been drinking, or impaired. Eight characteristics of the driver and crash circumstances were examined for 214 fatal crashes. the results are discussed in terms of the relative contributions of age and alcohol impairment to the crash occurrence.
