Abstract

In this paper, attention is paid to the following subjects: development of alcohol use by motorists in weekend nights in the Netherlands; accident risks as a result of alcohol use in traffic; development of the use of drugs and medicines in Dutch traffic; accident risks as a result of the use of drugs and medicines in traffic; Dutch study into the risks of the use of alcohol, drugs, and psychoactive medicines by motorists; factors which have an influence upon drink-driving; expected effects of some measures against drink-driving; expected effects of some measures against drug use; and expected effects of some measures against the use of psychoactive medicines.
