Abstract

The Netherlands government is considering taking new measures against driving under the influence of alcohol, which is still one of the most important causes of accidents. Research has shown that possibilities exist of decreasing the number of alcohol-related accidents. Therefore material and other sacrifices must be made, but it is questioned whether people are prepared to pay for these. Pros and cons are listed in this report in order to start a discussion. Thereafter possible ways of carrying out present policy more efficiently are set out.
