Some parallels between epidemiological data, accident analysis, laboratory experiments, instrumented car research, and some preliminary analyses of on-road driving performance obtained unobtrusively, are discussed. The relationship between alcohol influences upon reaction time, braking performance and stopping behaviour are discussed.
