Abstract

From 1970- 1989, ten surveys were carried out in the Netherlands, to make an inventory of driving under the influence by car- drivers. In this study, the results of the 1989 survey are presented. In addition a comparison is made regarding the data from 1988 (See B 29205). The increase of the number of female drivers with a BAC over 0.5 promille is stronger than the general increase of the number of female drivers. One out of six drivers who have experience with driving under the influence is stopped during the last half year by the police for a BAC test.
