Alcoholism and problem drinking.

Abstract

The pharmacologic effect of alcohol and its relationship to driving ability is given along with characteristics of problem drinkers. It is noted that in a substantial majority of highway crashes involving alcohol, the blood alcohol concentration is 100 mg/ 100 ml or higher. Personality characteristics, attitudes, and alcohol usage habits of problem drivers are reviewed.
