Abstract

The DRIVE/2 project ACCEPT links three national RDS-TMC pilots in France (Ile de France), Germany (BEVEI) and The Netherlands (Rhine Corridor). The main objective is to validate the RDS-TMC technique, based on the ALERT C protocol. This paper outlines the set up of ACCEPT focusing on the evaluation of the international use of RDS-TMC. Brief details are provided of: a) selection of test drivers; b) the trial design; and c) the initial results of the trial. Both car and lorry drivers were surveyed. The trial tested users opinion on the quality of the messages being provided.
