Abstract

Bus priority in a traffic control scheme decreases the capacity of the intersection in most cases. Queues may be caused by such measures. This contribution shows how a capacity analysis for intersections with bus priority control can be made. With a simulation it is shown that even when the load of the intersection is below capacity, queues may still give problems. These queues have a irregular character.
