Abstract
A review of efforts to achieve cleaner combustion in car engines, e.g. a hybrid drive developed by Daimler-Benz, Bosch and Varta (diesel power unit + lead battery), a diesel oil fuelled Stirling engine with helium changing, gas turbines, electric hybrid drives, based on galvanic cells, which operate without adding to air pollution.
