Abstract

This publication describes alternative transportation programs as an approach to reducing impaired driving. Sections include: background on alternative transportation; types of alternative transportation programs; evaluated alternative transportation programs; developing an effective alternative transportation program; and the research methods used for this publication. It is intended for States and local communities that are considering implementation of an alternative transportation program as a strategy to address impaired driving. (Author/publisher)
