Abstract
In the last twenty- five years there have been many changes in the methods and techniques of transportation planning and research in Amsterdam. Policy issues are different too; they are more diverse and more specific. The new type of policy issue has strongly influenced developments in the transportation planning profession. In this paper the developments are described and the question is raised what we can learn from them.
