Abstract

For the construction of junctions in interurban highways there are two different aspects: more safety and less money. In 1974 the number of accidents at junctions was 30% of all accidents on rural highways. It is shown that the increase of capacity on certain junctions has also given and increase of accidents. Conclusions for a better layout of some junctions in rural areas are presented.
