Since March 1984 six waves of data have been collected in connection with a longitudinal travel study that is being carried out in the Netherlands.This research has two main objectives: 1. to record and analyze changes in travel patterns of the Dutch population;2. to determine the impact of changes in the fare structure on travel behaviour by separating out these effects from those of other influences, and to assess the impact of such changes on individual segments of the population.The aim of the present paper is to present a general overview of the type of analysis carried out.
