Abstract

This study is addressed to the development and demonstration of an analytical procedure for the optimal design of freeway incident response system. Based on logical combinations of basic detection and service components for detailed analysis. Rapid detection and service response to individuals directly involved in traffic incidents was the selected objective and mean response time the selected effectiveness measure as input to the system design process.
