Abstract

An analysis of motor vehicle accident data was made (1) to determine which of a collection of variables characterizing the crash configuration, automobile characteristics, and driver characteristics are most strongly associated with driver injury, and (2) to obtain estimates of differences in injury rates associated with certain vehicle model year categories from categorical data models developed using the variables selected in (1).
