Abstract

This report is a review of the literature on the effectiveness of certain crash protection (safety) devices introduced into automobiles in the 1960's. Included herein are reviews on lap belts, shoulder belts, energy absorbing steering columns, high penetration resistant windshields, head restraints, and side door beams.
