Abstract

A methodology for analyzing the importance potential users of a new or modified transportation system place on various design characteristics of that system is described. The methodology involves the selection and grouping of system characteristics, the adaptation and integration of psychological scaling techniques, the stratification of consumers and the design of an attitudional survey as the basic data collection device.
