Abstract

This article discusses the theory for analysis and prediction of dynamic frequency response of lateral force and torque acting upon a tyre when the wheel is moved laterally and swiveled about the vertical axis. The theory establishes the force and torque response of the tyre model, and the analysis is confined to small deviations from the rectilinear motion, so that it can be assumed sliding does not occur in the contact area of the tyre.
