An analysis of farm equipment accidents on North Carolina public roads.

Abstract

An exploratory study to determine the patterns of highway accidents in North Carolina involving farm tractors and other farm equipment is presented. Farm equipment operators in accidents suffer more fatalities and injuries than do other drivers. Recommendations are given for an special emblem on tractors, a driver's license for the operator, directional sign and rear view mirror and lighting on farm equipments.
