Abstract

To survey traffic behaviour, photographs have been taken from several places near roadsides or from helicopter. However, these methods have some problems in analyzing procedures or costs. This paper refers to the method of analyzing traffic behaviour on an expressway, using a kiteballoon at an altitude of 200 metres. This method is low cost and allows for continuous photographing. The pictures were taken with a half inch video camera.Recently video cameras have been used instead of the cine camera because of its improved resolution power and ease of handling.
