Abstract

Several national and European projects aim at the development and the realisation of a Traffic Information Centre (TIC) and the information services based on it. The determination of the user requirements of the authorities operating a TIC is crucial for being able to develop a sound system architecture. The user requirements can be quite different or even rather vague. It is extremely important that right at the beginning a mutual understanding for the overall system architecture is obtained in order to fulfil the expectations and requirements of the different TIC site owners. Within the EU project ENTERPRICE these user requirements towards such a centre were discussed in co-operation with all partners of the four involved sites in the Netherlands, Hessen, Switzerland and Denmark. The approach and the results of this work are presented in this paper.
