Abstract

Data from accident files and theoretical derivations are used to demonstrate the interchangeability of contingency-table analysis with analysis of variance for dichotomous dependent variables. Evidence is offered for this method of flexibility in analysis and presentation, and its cost benefit over contingency-table analysis. The utility of the analysis of variance method is demonstrated through several examples.
