Abstract
The primary objectives of this study are to determine the extent of wrong-way movements on freeway ramps and to propose corrective measures to eliminate such movements. One phase of this study is a cooperative data gathering program between the Highway Department and the Michigan State Police to record and analyse wrong-way incidents occurring on Michigan's rural freeways. This preliminary report covers an analysis of 200 such incidents as observed and recorded by the Michigan Department of State Police during 1966.
