Abstract

The first two reports in this volume are focused on the extracting of freeway lane-changing characteristics and experimental validation of various lane-changing hypotheses from aerial data. In the following three reports continuum models on multi-lane freeways are applied to freeway lane drops and exit ramps. Validation studies are carried out using aerial data. Analytical proofs are given for the local flow and concentration relations of continuum models.
