Abstract

Comparisons were made of the number of persons killed and number of casualty accidents in the three years before and after the introduction of Sunday sessions, in which the sale and supply of liquor was possible, in Perth. A statistically significantly greater proportion of persons were killed and casualty accidents occurred on Sundays than the other days of the week in the after period. The results of the study were consistent with the hypothesis that the introduction of Sunday sessions had a detrimental effect on traffic safety.
