Abstract

A before and after accident study at 41 intersections where vehicle-actuated signals have been installed over the period 1961 to 1965, together with the effect of remodelling the signals at 19 intersections, and the installation of flashing red /amber signals at 25 intersections is examined. Results are presented in terms of number of accidents per year before, and the range of reductions.
