Abstract

It is shown that pyroglutamyl-histidyl-prolineamide (TRH), that is known to antagonise ethanol narcosis, metabolise not only to acid TRH, but also to histidyl-proline diketopiperazine (His-Pro). Tests with rats indicated that the ethanol narcosis antagonism is due to the conversion of TRH to His-Pro.
