Abstract

It is pointed out that the working of an anti locking system (ABS) does not always come up to the expectations, especially because they run too high. An ABS makes certain that the vehicle remains controllable during braking, on the one hand, but not that the shortest braking distance is always reached, on the other hand. An account is given of recent tests and developments.
