Abstract

The development of anti-locking braking systems, is described. Systems being evaluated in the U.K. by manufacturers and legislators are outlined. Research into the significance of wheel locking and its dependence on surface conditions, rear-wheel control systems, and 4-wheel control systems is briefly given.
