Abstract

Based on theoretical analyses of the anticipation concept and the driving task anticipatory driving is defined as performing driving behaviour that is initiated and guided by the expectation of future events. In some studies it was investigated whether anticipation of traffic situations can be measured while subjects are not driving. It is suggested that for measurement purposes real driving performance measures have to be used.
