Abstract

There is compelling evidence to show that young children have high accident involvement as pedestrians and as pedal cyclists. The purpose of this study was to investigate the judgments young children make at the kerbside. In making decisions about traffic at the kerbside children need not only to be able to receive information from sight and hearing but interpret the information so that judgments can be made upon which the decisions rely.
