Abstract

In this report, it is confirmed that simulation can fully reproduce the conditions of a sled test. A case is illustrated in which simulation was applied in order to obtain the optimum specification of the collapse characteristic of the steering column which becomes more important as a restraint system when an airbag is installed. An attempt is made to develop and utilize this simulation technique. The aim is to efficiently introduce the optimum system of airbags in recreational vehicles (RV). (A)
