Abstract

The Application of Galileo In the location based services (LBS) Environment (AGILE) project aims to foster the take-up of GNSS in the key sector ofmass-market LBS. The AGILE solution places equal emphasis on the technical and non-technical enablers that will stimulate the development of GNSS-based LBS applications for mass consumers. The ultimate objective is to define and consolidate an overall roadmap that will efficiently bring Galileo-based, value-added applications to reality, for the benefit of users and service providers. The project will lead the way in introducing next-generation satellite navigation technologies into mass-market LBS, which use a mobile phone's position as part of value added services, such as emergencyresponse, traffic information, route guidance and fleet management.
