Abstract
The State of Michigan Department of Transportation conducted a positive guidance demonstration project on a motorway site which experienced a high accident rate as well as a high incidence of erratic manoeuvres and lane changes. A before and after evaluation showed statistically significant reduction of two of the four measures of effectiveness used: erratic manoeuvres and brake applications.
