Abstract

Based on the results of strategic studies which are covering the whole highway network of Berlin and Brandenburg, the first phase of the network management and control system in Brandenburg was implemented on the southern and western part of highway A 10 (ringroad Berlin) in autumn 1994. This phase consists of a dynamic route guidance and a section control system. It is working automatically and computer controlled by the sub centre Werder. The centre has to comply with the following tasks: system monitoring, data acquisition, aggregation and transmission to the overall traffic control centre Stolpe, and short term data storage.
