Abstract

Traffic safety in Jordan has been debated in the last few years.A high percentage of the citizens still think that the country is ranked among the most dangerous countries in the world. This study traces the development of traffic safety in Jordan during the last twodecades. Examining changes in accident rate over time and comparingwith those in Middle Eastern and developing countries, it is concluded that safety levels in Jordan are among the best in Middle Eastern and developing countries.
