Approximate effect of increasing frequency of inspections on percentage of defective vehicles.

Abstract

We believe that the motor vehicle inspection programs, as conducted, have brought about a decrease in defective vehicles in service. This accomplishment took time. We believe that the condition of vehicles on the highways was improved as a result of motor vehicle inspection, and that this improved conditions was material in reducing the number of accidents.
