Abstract

The BEUGNET Group has devised and manufactured specific equipment for full depth recycling of existing pavements with Portland cement. This equipment is composed of two machines: (1) ARC Dosage, a semi-trailer which stores cement and water, used for dosing and spreading cement on the old pavement; and (2) ARC 700, which carries out the in-situ recycling; it is composed of (i) a powerful milling cutter drum, which can mill pavement materials, whether bound or not, up to a depth of 33 cm; and (ii) a horizontal axis mixer, which provides a resulting homogeneous material, with a gradation curve similar to that of conventional hydraulically bound materials. This cold recycling process ("ARC 700 process") re-uses existing materials. It is therefore economical and environment friendly. More than 4,000,000 square m of pavements have been recycled in France and Europe with this process. (A) The German title of this article is: ARC 700: Das Verfahren der Wiederverwendung von Ganzer hohe der Existierenden Strassendecke an der Erneuerungsstelle (mit Verwendung des Portlandzements).
