Abstract

This paper describes: (1) a standard small- scale area traffic control system in Japan, capable of controlling 300 intersections. Details are given of the system structure, transmission method, system functions (traffic control, command desk, wall map display, traffic information dissemination); and (2) Tokyo traffic control and surveillance system which controls approximately 5000 intersections.
