Abstract

This paper presents some of the results from the recently completed second phase of the ESA funded ARMAS (Active Road Management Assisted by Satellite) project. The project has specifically tackled the development of a prototype platform for electronic road tolling using available international standards (ISO/TC204, MISTER, CEN/TC278). Issues such as architecture choice, scalability, fraud robustness, privacy have been examined in detail by the consortia project members. Field trials were completed in Dublin, The Hague, London and Lisbon.
