Abstract

The author discusses the use of networking to redefine the roles, tasks and authority of the various parties involved in traffic safety policy. The concept of networking is outlined and its relevance to traffic safety is discussed. Examples of the use of networking are described. These include the improvement of traffic education at primary level in North Holland and the use of driving schools to influence the behaviour of young drivers. Strategies, target groups and products and services are considered.
