Abstract

It is possible that the Dutch government by passing a bill in some cases can oblige a doctor to test the blood alcohol content of a person who is supposed to be drunk and who is involved in a road accident. The obligation however depends on some conditions which must be fulfilled. 1.The suspicion of drunkenness must be clear. 2.The police has no other means at their disposal. 3.The obligation is not in force, if it concerns the doctor's own patient. 4. The doctor will not be obliged to testify in court on other things than on the blood test. In this article a doctor gives his opinion on these conditions which are drawn up by a lawyer.
