Abstract

To monitor the behaviour of car drivers a special methodology has been developed. Data were collected in instrumented car. Two different methods for analysing the data were employed. In the first place a qualitative analysis was used to classify driving error. In the second place a more quantitative analysis was used to explore, among other things, visual orientation. The analysis showed that the youngest and relatively most inexperienced subjects had the most shortcomings in their visual search patterns.
