Abstract

In order to develop continuous power-outputs higher than 40 kW per cylinder it was found convenient to choose a low compression ratio. Tests emphasized the advantage of reducing the mechanical stresses and proved the reliability of an engine having a weight-ratio of 3.7kg/kW. Development works on this engines are summarized.
